Officer Scott Taper made a search of George Holmes' house, on Herron avenue, yesterday. Holmes is charged before Deputy Mayor Richards, by Robert Smith with larceny. Two gold watches, a gold ring and $15 in cash were stolen from Mr. Smith's house last Monday. Suspicion pointed to Holme-", Holme-", Holme-", who was arrested yesterday yesterday morning. A pawn ticket was found on bis person, calling for one of the watches which was subsequently found in thesbop of the broker who issued the ticket. Thereupon a search warrant was issued and the following articles were found by the police: Sixteen pawn tickets, some calling for watches, some for gold rings and others for clothing. A chest, full of burglar's tools were also fonnd in the bouse. Tbe search will he continued this morning previous to Holmes bearing, which takes place this afternoon.
