Progressive dinner to benefit V alley Preparatory School REDLANDS - Diners will sep tbrep historically interesting homes wtren they attend the gourmet progressive dinner to benefit Valley Preparatory School al fi:30 p.m. March 29. Reservations are due today, and may be made by con fading the school at 1515 Ford St. Dinner and entertainment will be $5 per person. The newest house of the three belongs to Raymond and Helen Boese. 123 Garden Hill Drive. It was built in 1927 by the late Gordon Donald as the honeymoon cottage for the Harold Harrises. A mission-style homp, il is filled with arches and carved wood. The living room has an 18 - foot tali arched window with a colored glass insert of Columbus' flagship. The house has a compass set into the sunroom floor to show that the building was constructed at an angle to filter the sunlight through the colored glass so that it reflects on other walls. By not being set exactly north and south, the home also catches the breezes from San Timoteo Canyon to create natural .ir conditioning.
