Keceived a classical course - at an Academy in Wilmington, of which Kev, M. Ualey, a rresbyterian clergyman, was nrincinal. Tausrht school one vear in Marv. land, and licensed as local preacher within the bounds oi the .Baltimore Conference in lSuU. Entered the Philadelphia Conference the following year, his first charge being at Tre - raont, Schuylkill county, from 1851 to 1853. Is a member of the Board of Managers of the Church Extension Society of the Philadelphia Conference lor the present year.
