Thomson spent hi childhood days In Spearflah. He was graduated from Spearflah high school In 193S and In 1941 be was graduated from law school at th Un iversity of Wyoming. He .then entered tbe United States army ss a second lieutenant. Thompson I stationed at Camp While, Oregon. H Is 24 year old. James E. Pomeroy, formerly of Spearflah, was Inducted Into the army at San Francisco May 10 and is receiving his basic train ing at Camp Robert. California. w w Recent visitors st th bom of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Vance were Corp. George King and his sister, Bertha, of Wbitewood. King and Mr. and Mr. Vance's son, Lyle, who Is now stationed In Africa, were friend befors tasy war called into tbe service. King has Men action In Guadalcanal and has taken part la several major engagement. HI last station was la New Zealand where be became 111 and was then sent to a hospital at Camp Elliott. California, He was given a furlough when he waa dismissed from the hospital. n w A letter was received at th Mail this week from Oens Thompson, former Mail Unotyp operator who made his horn with Mr. and Mrs. Albert Clark when b lived In Spearflah. Thompson I stationed at Still water, Okla. He said he would be gin his flying instruction lion-day and that he would be stationed in the Oklahoma city only on mors month. a Pvt. Clyde Cooley arrived here recently to spend an 11-day furlough with relative and friends. He la stationed at Camp Campbell in Kentucky. Ha will leave for hi camp Friday.
