Death of Leander Sargent Harris

T I ^ ^ "n-iT.1.**,, /-Â«* i n 1 nf Leander Sargent Harris, 85, died a five-fifty-five a. m. today at the family residence, 3421 Adams, from-causes incident to age after a two-day illness. Mr. Harris was born at Harrisville April 20, 1860, a son of Martin H. Louisa Sargent Harris. He was an ac tive member of the L. D. -S. church and a school trustee for a number of years. He served as clerk of the Harrisville ward and for 20 j'ears in" the Harrisville ward bishopric. He was counselor to Bishop Levi J. Taylor and Bishop R. R. Brown, both of the Harrisville ward. He served two missions for the in 1897 in the eastern states mission and in California in 1926. He was also water master of the Harrisville Cana Co., and an engineer on the S. P. road Co., Utah Northern Railroad He married Eliza Barlow, Oct. 10. in the L. D. S. Salt Lake temple. Surviving are his widow, and the following sons and daughters: Mrs. Heimendinger, Palo Alto, Calif.; Arvil Alvin and Thomas S. Harris, Ogden Eugene Harris, Santa Barbara, Calif, eight grandchildren; also the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. David Davis St. Anthony, Ida., Martin D. Harris Ogden, and Mrs. Ida A. Dixon, Oakland Calif. The body is at the mortuary, 466 Twenty-fourth.
