VALENTINE O. SPIES LA FERI! — Valentine C. Spies, 78, a retired building con tractor, died in La Feria Nursing Home Monday night, 1 Mr. Spies came to the Valley in 1922 from Lowell, Ohio. He was a member of the First Metho- dist Church of La Feria. Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Josie Olive Spies of La Fe- ria; a daughter, Mrs. C. J. Yost of San Benito; a son, Robert Spies of La Feria; brother, Armen Spies of Alliance, Ohio; five sisters. Mrs. Minetta Decker, Anna Ray, Mrs. Ellen Ed- dleblute and Mrs. Flora Merry man, all of Alliance, Ohio, and Mrs. Carry Young of Lowell, Ohio; and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be con- dwted by the Rev. Paul Wright at P- m. today in the First Methodist Church of La Feria. Burial will be in Mont Meta Me- m°rial Park, Pallbearers will be John Park. Tom Starkey, Dan Robinson, Lee Tfacy, Jack Mitchell and M. E Hadley. Arrangements are by Aaron - Cox Mortuary of La Feria.
