Grand Jury Probes Death of Lieutenant A grand jury investigation of the fatal shooting April 16 of Lt. Samuel A. Bennett, 32, Birming ham, Ala., stationed at Bowman Field, by Thelbert E. Koenig, vice -squad -squad patrolman, was started yesterday at the request of Bennett's family. Lt. Kenneth Means, Bowman Field, offered findings of ballis tics tests. This evidence has not been submitted at a coroner's in quest and a Police Court hearing which resulted in filing away of a manslaughter charge against Koenig. The patrolman said his gun went off as he scuffled with Ben nett. The Army oincer ana a civilian were taken into custody in Cherokee Park. Koenig is expected expected to testify tomorrow.
