at and Ros-tas, she of by in hv Christo-street, WALTER OAKES Walter Oakes, of the Mengle Apartments, Main street, White Haven, died at the State General Hospital early this morning after a short illness. Born in White Haven, the deceased deceased had lived in that community community all his life. He had been employed employed as a fireman for the Atlas Powder Co., White Haven, until his retirement 10 years ago. Surviving arc his wife, Frances, Sterling, N.J.; a daughter, Mrs. Margaret Hosner, Duryea; and the following step-children: step-children: step-children: Patricia Oakes, Tamaqua; Mrs. Emil Hy-dock, Hy-dock, Hy-dock, Freeland; Richard Oakes, South Plainfield, N.J.; Robert Oakes, Sterling, N.J.; and Ronald Oakes, stationed with the Army in Germany. There are nine grandchildren. The funeral will be held Monday at 2 p.m. from the A. Mitchell Kocher Funeral Home, White Haven, Haven, with Rev. John Brndjar, pastor pastor of Ss. Peter and Paul's Evangelical Evangelical Lutheran Church, this city, officiating. Interment will be in Laurel Cemetery, White Haven.
