Louis Martinez, the Mexican, who was arrested yesterday afternoon on the charge of attempting to steal a suit of clothes from the Hughes Clothing company on South Main street, was this morning turned over to the county where he will face the charge of grand larceny. It develops that Officer Shoemaekr who captured Martinez had to give the Mexican quite a chase before he caught him. After Martinez had been caught with the suit in his possession he broke away from yr store clerks and ran north on Main street with one of the clerks in his pursuit. Officer Shoemaker happened to be standing on the cor ner of Wall and Main and when the Mexican turned east on Wall the officer took up the chase. With the aid of an auto. Shoemaker succeeded in . running down the Mexican at Wall and Eddy streets.
