a ME TIEDJDI FIRST Carthage Ranks Next, Closely Followed Followed by Raleigh, in Tri-County Baseball League TWO POSTPONED GAMES The Hoosiers of Newcastle and Hagerstown are tied for first place in the tri-county baseball league, with Raleigh and Carthage ranking next in line. The artillery played an important part in the games Sunday. Carthage Carthage lost to the Newcastle Hoosiers, Hoosiers, 8 to 1, at the Chrysler park, after the teams had gone 1 to 1 in the eighth inning, when Carthage made four errors, tlie first of which would have retired the side. Hagerstown had an easy victory over Westwood 13 to 1 and the Raleigh Raleigh team walloped the Rose City Red Sox, 17 to 0, on a muddy field at Raleigh. All teams’ have two postponed games to play before the season is ended. Plans are being completed for an eight team league next season.
