Mrs. Mary C. T. McCluney Died, on October 26, 1929, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charlotte J. Smalley, In Sacramento, Sacramento, Calif, after a brief illness, illness, Mrs. Mary C. T. McCluney. Mrs. Mary C. T. McCluney, wife of the late Dr. T. O. McCluney, was the daughter of the Rev. Mr. Joseph King Tuttle of the St. Louis Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Episcopal church. She was born and educated in New York and was there married to Mr. Wm. O. Smalley, who died a few years after their marriage. To this union, one daughter was bora, Charlotte T. at whose home in Sacramento Mrs. McCluney died. In 1874 she married Dr. T. O. McCluney McCluney a prominent physician of Pettis county, who with his two small daughters, lived In Dresden. The family moved to Sedalia in 1882 after which time Mrs. McCluney McCluney was prominent in the social and club life of the town. She organized organized Osage chapter D. A. R. in 1878 and was its regent six years, and president of Sorosis for twelve year. While regent of Osage chapter, chapter, she originated the Idea of the present county rest room located in the court house. Having moved to Warrensburg, where she and her husband were located for a short time, she organ ized a D. A. R. Chapter and the A. B. C. Club, both of which are now doing effective work. In 1912 she moved to California where her husband died In 1923. During her residence in California Mrs. McCluney has, as in previous years, kept in touch with the great political, social and literary activ ttles of the lay. Her friends In Missouri are numbered numbered by her acquaintances and her loss will he greatly mourned. She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Charlotte T. Smalley, a number number of nieces and nephews, seven step-grand children, a son-in-law. Mr. Ernest Dugan and her stepdaughter. stepdaughter.
