David F. Westerbeck
Insurance directors C. D. Bur.ns, 55B7 Kingsbury Road, Fairfield, senior vice president and comptroller of The Union Central Life Insulance Co , is one'of two new directors elected by the company. The other is Charles C. Hinckley, Hyde Park, Cincinnati, vice president and general counsel. The vacancies oi) the board were created by the .deaths of Logan T. Johnston, former president* of Armco Steel Corp., Middletown, and Dr. Johnson McGuire, of Cincinnati. Johnston had been on The Union Central Board for 13 years. Dr. McGuire had been a director and consultant to the company's top management since 1958. Burns, graduate of the U n i v e r s i t y , of Tennesse's with a B.S. degree, has been .with The Union Central since 1963 when he was named assistant to the comptroller. Subsequently he served- as assistant comptroller, first assistant comptroller, administrative vice president,, vice president and comptroller and in' 1974 was elected senior vice president and comptroller. After several years service he left the company but returned , in 1Â»73 as associate general counsel. He was elected vice president in/January, ,1977 and vice, president, and general counsel--in .May, ' MR.HINCKLEY ^ 1977. Hinckley is a life member of the Million Dollar Round Table. Â· Â· Â· ' . Westerbeck as secretary of the company, position he will hold in addition to his other duties as assistant counsel; Westerbeck is a graduate the University of Cincinnati with a B.A. degree and the',U.
