Joe and Billie Hawkins "It's wonderful," said Jack Eddins of Hawkins - Eddins appliance and furniture stores, "our business has doubled since 1970." The first Hawkins - Eddins store, now located at 845 W. Foster, originally was a refrigeration business started in 1945 by Joe Hawkins. In 1950 he entered into the full appliance business east of the store's present location, and in 1958 he moved it to the current address. In 1969 Eddins became a partner. The second store was opened in 1971 at 912 W. Kentucky and deals in Magnavox and furniture. Eddins said of the booming business. "It's good for us and it's good for Pampa." Joe Hawkins' son. Billie. joined the business in 1972. Young Hawkins said that he feels "the two stores offer a full selection of furniture and appliances to satisfy the needs of people in Pampa.'' Eddins said, "business this year is growing at a better than average rate " Joe Hawkins added, "business is even better than last year, arid it was good then. Hawkins - Eddins Jack Eddins
