J. If. McKeeta. Charts Choteau. This suit was yesterday decided by a jury in favor of defendant. The petitioner is the purchaser of the claim of C. A. Weed against Chas. P. Choteau, to the amount, or SittOjWu. According to trie petition. T. J. Pratt and C. A. Weed, contracted with D. D. Avery for the purchase of the Petit Anse salt mines, Choteau agreeing to unite with them in the formation of, me BtocK company to worK tne mine, whereby Weed's expenses of $105,000 were to be reimbursed in shares, Weed to get one - third, amounting to $250,000. After the parties abandoned the lease, Avery and Choteau was in management of the mine, he failed to form the company, company, whereby Weed lost $105,000 and the stock (250,000.) having been adjudged a bankrupt, the assignee of his estate sold the petitioner his full claim against Choteau, for which suit was brought with the above verdict.
