J2 Anurlllo Globe-Times Friday, August 7, 1959 Death Is Ruled Self-inflicted HEREFORD, Aug. 7-A verdict of "accidental death, self-inflicted," self-inflicted," was relumed Thursday by Justice of the Peace C. B. Miles in the shooting of Dr, J. W. Uen- drix, 58, here last weekend. Dr. Hendrix, a chiropractor was found' shot to death in the basement of his home Saturday night. Services were held here Monday. The doctor, who had practiced in Hereford for more than 25 years, was found dead about 9 p.m. by his wife when she went to the basement to investigate a shot which she heard shortly after her husband went down to clean some guns. An avid hunter, he owned several rifles and shotguns. The fatal wound was made by a deer rifle bullet. Miles' said the bullet entered Dr. Hendrix's body near the heart.
