Molhcr Celeste Hnnlon, provincial of Central Province Province of the United States, to the General Chapter, which will be held In Rome, Italy, In September, and lo prepare the matter to be presented at the General Chapter, wns brought lo a close Thursday. Rev. Molhcr Mary Cecelia Smith, novice mistress at the Ursuline Novitiate nt Feslus, Mo., and Rev. Molhcr Loretla Bolnnd, prioress of St. Teresa's Acndcmy, Decatur, were elected delegates. Rev. Mother Carmellta Mosley, prioress at Klrkwood, Mo., Rev. Mother Loyola Ott, prioress nt Gal- vtston./Tex., and Rev. Mother Mar- gnffcl Vary Clark, -kecond council- lor otUhe chapteirand prioress at New Orleans, La., were named as alternates. Mother Provincial Celeste, a former former Alton resident, presided over the sessions Ihis week, and Ihe meeting opened with a trlduum conducted by the Rev. Joseph A. Gschwend, S. J., novice masler at the Jesuit Novltlale at Florissant, Mo. The General Chapter is being held for the purpose of electing a Mother General, who will succeed Rev. Mother Marie de St. Jean Martin, who has served as head of the Ursullnes of the Roman Union since 1926. Rev. Mother Marie de St. Jean Martin served three terms nnd an extension because of World War II.
