TO "AUDITION" JANUARY 7 - The California Trio, which specializes in presenting music to young people in schools and during club octivities will present an "audition" for educators educators and other interested persons at 8 p.m. next Monday in San Bernardino Valley College Studio A. California Trio To Play Monday Russell Baldwin - of' Redlands, president of Accent on Music, announces announces that teachers, administrators administrators and program chairmen are invited to hear a "showcase" by the new California Trio, which is arranging a series of school demonstrations and concerts for clubs and other groups. The showcase is scheduled for 8 p.m. Monday, January 7, at San Bernardino -Valley College Studio A. There is no charge for admission. The trio is made up of three of the Southland's outstanding musicians, Anthony Porto, violin; Wladyslaw Przybyla, 'ceUo; and Helen Spessard, piano. Porto, formerly of the Los Angeles Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra, gives chamber music demonstra- tions in the Los Angeles schools. He is former concertmaster of the Phoeniji Symphony. Przybyla, now with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, is former first 'cellist of the Phoenbc and San Diego symphonies. He came to this country ihi years ago as a member of the Feld Quartet, aft- ei performing with the Warsaw and Vienna Philharmonics. Mrs. Spessarf of Pasadena studied studied at University of Michigan, University of Pittsburgh, Carnegie Tech and USC. She was a master class pupil of Sergei Tarnowsky and was accompanist for the classes classes of Harvey Gaul and Reinald Werrenrath. She. studied ensemble ensemble with Joanna Graudan and Stephen De'ak and performed at the Sigma Alpha Iota national convention in San Francisco. a
