address E. S. C. A. R. Logan Banker Dies at Home Of Daughter Hyrum Hayball, 84, Had Helped Build L. D. S. Temple, Ward Chapel Special to The Tribune LOGAN—Hyrum Hayball, 84, pioneer Banker and merchant of Cache county, succumbed here Sunday Sunday night at the home of his daughter, daughter, Mrs. W. Preston Thomas. He riad been ill several months. Mr. Hayball had been retired four years. Pie was born*March 13, 1852, at ?hard, Somersetshire, England, the ;on of George Sampson and Louisa Hancock Hayba!!, and came to Logan with his parents in 1868, less :han 10 years after settlement of ;he town. Mr. Hayball was a pioneer Cache valley merchant, operating mercan- :ile and drug combination stores in Logan, Lewiston and Richmond. He was one of the founders of the t!ache Valley Bank company and of ,he Lewiston State bank. He served as a member of the directorate and as vice president of both institu- :ions from their organization until his retirement. The veteran business man also was active in politics, having served two terms as a Cache county commissioner, commissioner, one of which he was the chairman of the board. He was active in L. D. S. church work, and participated actively in the building of the L. D. S. temple in Logan and the Fourth ward chapel. He was chairman of the Cache stake old folks committee. Mr. HaybaH was identified as an active civic worker and was a public spirited citizen. His, wife, Ellen Nelson Hayball, succumbed in 1910. Mr. Haybal! is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Thomas and Miss Edith Hayball of Logan, and Mrs. Earl Bennion, Magna; Magna; 10 grandchildren. A brother, Henry G. Haybail, and two sisters, Mrs. Lulu Lawson, Logan, and Mrs. Ellen England, Plain City, also survive. survive. Funeral arrangements have not been completed. a of at a
