a Funeral Services Set Tuesday For Mrs. Asher, 1QG Funeral services for Mrs. Mattie Asher, who was 100 on Jan. 6, will be conducted Tuesday Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Riddle Chapel. Burial will be in King Cemetery, Cemetery, near Thornton, under direction direction of Riddle Funeral Home. A lifelong resident of Limestone Limestone County, Mrs. Asher died Monday morning about 1:45 in Nelson Nursing Home. She had been ill for several months. Among survivors of the aged Thornton woman are four other generations beside herself in the family. She lived most of her life in Thornton and the surrounding surrounding area. Her oldest daughter died this past Oct. 27 at the age of 80. She was Mrs. Nannie Salters of Fort Worth. A son, Willard Asher, died two years ago. Another Another son, Walter, had also preceded preceded her in death, Roy, another another son, died at the age of seven, some 50 years ago. Surviving are four sons, Ollie Asher and Odell Asher, both of .VIexia, Jesse Asher and Fred Asher, both of Thornton; and three daughters, Mrs. Velma Velma Dunlap of Groesbeck, Mrs. Myrtle Ashley of Taylor, and Mrs. Jewoll Carroll, of Thornton. Thornton. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren, grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren. Her husband svas the late Walter Mack Asher. He was killed killed on Sept. 4, ]92ti, while hauling hauling hay. He slid from a stack of hay and was killed by his wagon wheels. Until four months ago, she lived with her son, Fred, at Thornton. ! | I
