Oil Tank Explosion Injures Two and Rocks Town of Rex week, St. Patterson meeting the in Augusta presented Noxon -- (IP) -- Two men injured, considerable damage was done, and this western Montana town of 250 persons shaken Monday night when an oil storage exploded. Earl Scott, 61, and Stewart Hampton, 43, both of Noxon, rushed to a Sandpoint, Idaho, hospital. Attendants said both men suffered second degree burns the face and arms. Scott may suffered some broken ribs. Sheriff Wally Britton of Thompson Falls described the accident as happening this way: The two men--state highway department employes--were transferring asphalt from a railway tank car to the storage tank. A unit used in making the asphalt fluid enough to be drained apparently ignited the storage tank. ·? Scott was standing on top of 15-foot tank and was thrown 50 feet when the explosion occurred. Hampton was at the of the tank.
