V0CKEÏ IS TO BE CANDIDATE W. H. Yockey, for many years a North Western engineer out of tlilis station and now on the retired list, yesterday announced that he will be a candidate for city clerk at the primary primary election of Mar. 3. The following following announcement of Mr. Yockey** candidacy was issued yesterday: “Mr. Yockey lias become a candidate candidate for the office of city clerk at the earnest solicitation of his many friends in all parts of the city. He has been a resident of this city since 1879 and has been continuously a tax payer in Escanaba for over 30 years. Before entering the service of the rail road Mr. Yockey received educational training that eminently fits him for discharge of the duties of the of-, fice for which he is a candidate. Af-j being .graduated from the Fond du Lac High school he was also grad- uated from Deland’s businses college f Fond du Lac and for two years served as a school teacher in Fond du I.ac county. He las ever been inter-' , ' j ; ested in the affairs of the city of Escanaba. He enters the campaign; for the office of city clerk with a de-■ sire to win and earnestly solicits the support of all voters. If elected toj I the office Mr. \ockey will give to its duties his careful personal attention and work continuously for the best interests interests of the taxpayers of the city.”
