Newark Netters Pin First Defeat On Irvington, 4-3 FREMONT -- Irvington dropped it's first tennis match of the year yesterday to the Knights of High, 4-3, marking the first time anyone remembers Irvington team losing a match. Newark's Steve Palumbo broke the Irvington ^ ====== ^^ = ^M when he came from to defeat the Vikings' Pitka. Field events start at 1:15 p.m. and running events at 2 p.m. in this Pacific Eight dual meet which will have the visitors the big favorite. Oregon State is coming off successive victories over TJCLA and Washington State. The Bears, 6-2 on the dual meet season, are coming off a 99-54 win over Washington on a wet, chilling, windy, cold, day in Seattle that saw few outstanding outstanding marks achieved. O v e r a l l Beaver strength brought them impressive victories victories over strong PAC-8 opponents opponents and it is this balance which favors an OSU victory. Sam Lovato and Roy Johnson Johnson then downed Kerry Crites and Lee Moore 6-4 and 6-1. The Knights fourth point when Marlin Wallace defeated Tim Johnson 6-3 and 9-7. Other action saw Mission Jose dump James Logan 5-2 behind the fine play Dennis Me- Enery and Bob Chase who opened with singles victories. Washington won it's fourth match of league play by John F.
