Gates to Rest Thursday Morning More than 2,000 sorrowing friends attended funeral services at the First Baptist church Thursday morning of Mm. L. G. who died Tuesday night following n long period of illness. Floral offerings were made in abundance. abundance. The church and afterward afterward the grave of the deceased were transformed into n veritable assemblage of gorgeous roses, daisies, lilies, and greenery. Services were conducted by E. II. Marrincr, naslor of the Baptist church nt Hatlic-sburg, Dr. W. A. McComb, pastor of First Baptist church of Gulfporl, the latter an intimate friend of the Rev. L. G. Gales since his early youth. The Rev. B. L. Sutherland, formerly pastor of the Methodist church of Laurel, and now of Meridian, was among who lead the vast congregation in prayer. A vocal · quartet .was furnished by Mrs. Lavon Boyles, Miss Marlon Marlon Talc, John Lewis nnd Lowroy Compeer, accompanied by Mrs. Lowrcy Compeer at the piano. Harry M. Vlllainc and James Moore played n violin duet, and other'instrumcnlnl music was given given at \-nriouj times during . ceremony. Interment was made at Lako Park cemetery.
