Miss Bernice Brown has been quite ill butis recovering. Mr. J. R. Jones and wife of Algona, were callers In these parts Tuesday. Miss Anna Altwegg of Elmore, was the guest of Miss Carrie and Tilla Best the fore part of the week. Mike O'Rourke transacted business at Blue Earth MonJay. Quite a number of our people took in the excursion to Minneapolis. They expect to stay a week. Mrs. Dr. Fry who has been so very 111 Is on the road to recovery. Dick Hall has commenced the erection of a new house. Would like to know what this means Dick? H. Bruhns is comfortably settled in his new house. It is a beauty. Mrs. S. Best visited with friends near Wes- 5 ley the fore part of the week. On Friday last occurred the death of Mrs. B. F. Smith at her home in the west part of town. The funeral took place at the residence Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. Filklns of theM.E. Church preaching, the funeral sermon. sermon. It was the largest funeral ever held in the town. A large number of people from Algona, Blue Earth, Elmore, Bancroft and other surrounding towns were present. This sad news will be a shook to many, as -Mrs. Smith was beloved by all who'knew her. Deceased Deceased left a husband .and three small chil- djen to mourn her loss. The youngest child is but two weeks old. The bereaved husband and family have the sympathy of the whole community.
