November 21- Charles Grahl. a farmer, residing at Venice, near this city, while plowing up a tract of land discovered the skeletons of seven bodies lying side by side. The finding of th skeletons haa startled th Inhabitant of the village, and none of the older residents are able to account for them. However. years ago the land was covered with about three feet of water, and it Is thought that the skeletons are those of sailor who met death by drowning. At no time was the land nsed as a burying ground. Only two Inches of earth covered tha skeletons, which are well preserved. This Is th third peculiar akeleton unearthed by Lewii from the same gravel pit 12 feet under tne ground. Thla one shows that the person a-as more than seven feet tall, but the most wonderful feature la the slse of the skull, which measures a little over 10 Inches from forehead to the back of the skull. The lower Jaws measure six Inches from tbe mlng to the chin point snd on the back of the skull. Just back of the ears are hrna about one and a half Inchea long. Near the skeleton were found some peculiar tools made of muesel shells. The finds were made on the George Atkinson farm, near Sulphur Springs. A gang of workmen, under Foreman "Cap tain Jack" Bartell. doing construction work on the Big Four Railroad, near the atate line, have unearthed the remains of a man supposed to have belonged to a pre historic age. The bones, which are markahly well preserved, are of abnormal sixe. and the frame must have measured nearly seven feet In height. The skull wss covered aith long black hair and the brain was found to have withstood d lain tear tlon. It was In almost perfect form. The skeleton was found nearly 22 feet below the surface. Experts are of the opinion that the man belonged to a tribe of Mound Builders, whos earthen works appear through this section of the country. A MOUND BUILDER
