Wirtz Lankhorst wed
Wirtz-Lank/torst Wed Dr. Patricia Susanne Wirtz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John J. Wirtz of Watertown, So. Dak. was united in marriage February 1, to Dr. Barry John Lankhorst, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Lankhorst of Hawarden, Iowa. The ten a.m. wedding mass was officiated by Rev. Thury a! St. Joseph's Cathedral Chapel, Sioux Fatys. Baskets of yellow and white mums adorned the altar. The bride wore a wedding gown of white silk organza encrusted with clipped lace and seed pearl insets, with a chapel length train gathered at the waistline. Her shoulder length veil fell from a petal cap of pearls. She carried a nosegay of yellow and white pompons with baby's breath and yellow streamers. The maid of honor, Dr. Emma Ledbetter of LaCrosse, Wisconsin wore a floor length gown of moss green crystalline and ecru lace. She carried a nosegay of yellow and bronze pompons with baby breath. The groom, was at fired in a grey tuxedo with black velvet lapels. Dr. Arlan /astrbw of Lubbbck, Texas was the groom's honor-attendant. Dr. John Morton and Dr. James Powell of Sioux Kails were ushers. All the men in the wedding party were attired indentical to the groom and wore white carnation boutonnieres.-. The bride's mother wore a blue floor length knit gown with a yellow corsage. The groom's mother wore a floor length knit gown of mint green with a shoulder corsage of yellow and bronze mums. A buffet brunch was held at Westward Ho Country Club in Sioux Falls immediately following the ceremony. Mrs. Jim Powell registered the guests. The newlyweds are spending their honeymoon in Colorado after which they will reside in Sioux Falls where they are associated with MeKcnnon Hospital. Drs. Lankhorst and Lankhorst are both graduates of the University of South Dakota at Vermillion, So.Dak. They attended medical schools at the University and also at Texas Tech Medical School in Lubbock, Texas, from which they received their Doctor of Medicine Degrees.
