Hampton Service Set Funeral services for Mrs. New- akis Hampton, a resident of the Devil's Promenade community since childhood, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Spring River Indian Baptist church. The Rev. R. H. Hanna, pastor, will officiate... Mrs. Hampton, 74, died at 5:15 a.m. Sunday at her home «t Devil's Promenade, east of Quapaw, Quapaw, following a long Illness. She was the wife of the late Ora S. Hampton and a niece of Louis Angel, the last heriditary chief of the Quapaw Indian tribe who was known as Tallchief. A full-blood Quapaw who was in the aid born in the Osage hills country, j Mrs. Hampton is survived by a ,_ son, Louis H. Quapaw of Amar- Tex.; a daughter, Mrs. Odes- tine McWatters of the home; a foster-daughter, Mrs. Lucille Ro- w >n. of Tulsa; four grandchildren, Yannah and Ronny l^cWatters of i the home, Louis fi'allard of Tulsa, in-jand Charles Ballard of Stillwater! ! and three great-grandchildren, 1 . Pallbearers will be Joe Collins Tommy Zavier, Tommy Shappi I Walter King Jr., Jake Whitecrow and Irvin Wilson. Burial will be in "IjGAR cemetery under direction of the Cooper Funeral home. it! —
