department were at road, 12- been had the the 5, He 15, two and August C. Kersten August Carl Kersten, 68, of Rte. 4, died at 11 p.m. Wednesday in Mercy Hospital following a short iline-ss. He was born in Center Township Aug. 9. 1890, the son Kil Otto and Johanna Muenchow Kersten, Kersten, and was a farmer all his life. He married Hattie Schumacher Feb. 10, 1916 in Center Township. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Edgerton. Surviving are his wife; five sons, Verne, Rte. 3, Edgerton, Floyd and Russell, both of Janesville, Janesville, Harold, Rte. 4. and Allen, Rte. 3, Stoughton; three daughters, daughters, Mrs. Mildred Paulson, Rte. 2, Edgerton, Mrs. Gertrude Hunt, Rte. 2, Evansville and- Mrs. May Whitney, Janesville; 18 grandchildren; grandchildren; four brothers, Frank, Evansville, Evansville, Otto, and Herman, Rte. i and Carl Kersten, Rte. 5; two sisters, sisters, Mrs. Emma Landsvork, Janesville, and Mrs. Anna Pennycook, Pennycook, Rte. 2. Scr\'ices will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in St. John's Church, Edgerton, the Rev. A. C. Hom- bostel officiating. Burial wiJi be in Bethel Cemetery, Town of Center. Center. Friends may call at Reining Funeral Home Friday evening and at the church from 12:30 p.m. Saturday until the funeral hour. ing named Grant Park
