Class members met at the club on the evening of Aug. 3 f6r a short business meeting and to decorate. A social hour wars held from 6 to 7 p.m. Then everyone gathered in the main dining room, where they were welcomed by the master of ceremonies, Cecil Brumbaugh. Brumbaugh. A delicious swiss steak dinner, with all the trimmings, trimmings, was served. Richard Payne gave the invocation. Bud vases with yellow silk roses, the class flower, and green candles with green netting at the base and a yellow rose, decorated the tables. These were later awarded as door prizes, along with prizes donated by local businessmen and other class members. Mr. Brumbaugh introduced the officers present. They were: Mr. Robert Madden, President, and Mr. Richard Payne, Vice President. He recognized the ' special teachers attending as guests, Dana and Dixie Smith, and Dayton and Janet Shugarts. The reunion committee, Deborah Lynn, Carol Dietz, Vickie (Sunderland) McMullen, McMullen, Dennis and Connie (Rosensteel) Locke, Theresa Stasko, Greg and Peg (White) Dimoff, Rosemarie (Magliere) Sentman, Garnett (Kelly) Moore, Cecil and Susan (Oswalt) Brumbaugh, and Mrs. Karen (Cramer) Sunderland, were introduced and commended for a job well done. A bust of John F. Kennedy was presented to Mr. and Mrs. Smith to be placed in the high school library. The class motto: .Some men see things as they are and ask why, I dream things that never were and say why not, is inscribed at the base. Robert Madden led the group in singing the class song, "I've Got To Be Me." Rosemarie (Magliere) Sentman Sentman presented an amusing reading and musical program, Reflections on Ten Years. She played a medley from the album, Hair, then went on to say what was wrong with the sixties; After reading a list of fads, events at school and sayings, she concluded "that 1 things have changed to a small degree, but growing up in the sixties wasn't all bad. In closing, she read a poem from the play, Hip Hippie Hooray, which had been performed by The Masquer's, the Senior High Drama Club. These prizes were awarded: A crying towel and gas to Benjamin Harman, traveling the farthest; a pair of ear plugs and pot stick to Debbie (Peck) Lane, most children; a pottie chair to Greg and Peg (White) Dimoff, youngest child; a toy car to James White, oldest child; a pair of pot holders and band - aids to Sandy Love Hunter, newlyweds; a shower cap to Kenneth Lancaster, most hair; and a comb to Dennis Price, least hair. A rocking chair went to Debbie (Peck) Lane and vitamins to James White, for being married the longest. Both couples were married on Aug. 5,1967. Along with gag gifts, each person was given either a silver tray or wooden salt and pepper shakers. Members and guests joined in singing the alma mater. The remainder of the evening was enjoyed, with dancing to the music of Three Years After. In addition to the above named reunion committee, committee, Valerie (Copenhaver) Goodman and Glenn Scott will be on hand to plan the next reunion which will be in five years. The committee thanks everyone responsible for helping to make this reunion a great success. Plans Made By Fire Company Auxiliary Plans were made for several projects and two new members were welcomed r* the Sept. 11 meeting of the Orbisonia - Kockhill Fire Company Auxiliary. The session was held at the fire hall. The new members are Helen Rose and Simone Varner. Four projects, slated for October, were discussed and further plans made. The group has added ham hoagies to the jumbo ham sandwich sale, now scheduled for October 18 and 19. Orders are being taken now by all members. Delivery will be made at the time of the sale. On October 6, the auxiliary will serve a full - course turkey supper to 125 Junior Babe Ruth baseball team members. All auxiliary members are to report for work on that date. The sale of knives has been a success so far and more knives have been ordered. Finally, game night tickets are now on sale. The special event is to be held Saturday evening, October 27. Contact any member for details. The meeting opened with all members saying the Pledge to the Flag. In the absence of the chaplain, Barb Krause was in charge of devotions. Reports from officers Carolyn Welsh, Joyce Krause and Louise Daughenbaugh were read and approved. Mavine Krause was awarded the "pig." Next meeting will be October October 9. Card Shower Set A birthday card shower will be held for Mrs. Chester (Verna) Louder who will be 88 years old on Tuesday, Sept. 25. Verna would enjoy hearing from her friends.
