Marie Dressier Passes Crisis in Figlit for Life 62 Year Old Actress Rallies Rallies After Doctors Give Up Hope Santa Barbara, Calif., (JP)— Marie Dressier, 62 year old actress, passed a major crisis in her illness today after doctors at her bedside had abandoned hope she would live to see dawn. » Five hours after Dr. F. R. Nuzum, Nuzum, head of the medical staff attending attending her, expressed belief she would not live through the night, Miss Dressier rallied so strongly physicians announced the threat of death had passed until at least noon today. Her amazing vitality held out against a complication of heart and kidney ailments. At 7 o'clock last night Dr. Nuzum said "we don't expect her to live through the night". At 8 o'clock she sank so low that her features turned blue. Her heart faltered—almost stopped. Then slowly- the blue pallor drained from her face. By midnight midnight her heart action was normal. There was no fever and respiration was 80 to 100. Dr. Dr. Nuzum then left the sickroom sickroom to seek some rest, confident there would be no change in her condition until at least noon today.
