Wilshire Reunion Aug 1973
Meeting for their first reunion of what is hoped to become an annual tradition, at least 75 members of the pioneer Wilshire family met Saturday at the Wallace Anton home in Oak Glen. Highlights of the day were hiking. sporfs events, photographing and a family tree created by Nancy Broaders Plenty. • A dress worn by Rosalie Wilshire, now over 100 years old and the property of her granddaughter, Ida Parks Condit, was modeled by Sydney Wilshire Johnson and Teresa Wilshire Steed, great- granddaughters. Messages were received from family members Susan Anton of Las Vegas and Gustav Anderson of Denver, Colo., son of Ida Wilshire Anderson. Children of the first marriage of Joseph Wilshire to Rosalie produced three children, Mary Parks. Eva Carter and Earl Wilshire, all deceased. He married Melissa Meek in 1898 and they had ten children. In order, born were Ida Wilshire (Anderson), Blackie Wilshire, Alice (Beguelin), Ruth (Curry), Emma (Wells), George, Susan (Ward), Mabel, Henry and Francis. Surviving to this date are Blackie, Susan, Henry and Francis. Attending the reunion were Blackie and Edna Wilshire and family, Lucille and Keith Broaders, Sandra Abate, Keith Broaders Jr., Nancy Broaders Plenty and Bill Broaders; Louellen Wilshire and Wallace Anton, Greg, Brent, Peggy and Todd; Joanne Wilshire Moon and Danny, Deedee, Cristy and Mike. Francis and Louise Wilshire and Jack and Nancy Wilshire with Natalie, Karen and Dawn; Earl and Faye Wilshire, Jan and Erline Waterhouse, Sydney Wilshire Johnson, Kenny Johnson; Richard and Kay Wilshire, Ricky and Chad; Teresa Wilshire Steed, Tracy Steed, Tami and Mary Beth Wilshire.
