The Excelsior literary society wfll on Friday evening discuss the question '•Resolved, That private property should be abolished and all things shared in common." The anniversary will be held on April 14. The Sunday school convention to be foeM In the U. B. church opens on Friday Friday evening- with a sermon, by Rev. C. E. Bonghter, of West Lebanon. Saturday Saturday will be spent in the discussing of live Sunday school questions and communion services will be held oh Sunday forenoon. Mrs. Seth Light entertained friends from Jonestown and Lebanon at her home on Saturday. Misses Ida Spongier and Xora Eberhard Eberhard were visitors at 'Myerstown on Sunday. Miss Emma Xoll was the guest of Edwin Xoll on Sunday. Owing to the large amount of work on hand at the Avon knitting works they are at present runniug the machinery machinery night and day. John Martin lias been secured to run the machinery during the night. Misses Eimna and Cecilia Oberly were the guests of the Misses Murren last week. MT. and Mrs. Cornelius Black, of Lebanon, were visitors in our town on Friday. Mr. and Mra. -Harry Werner and daughter Mable spent Friday with friends and relatives at this place. Mrs. John Artz and Mrs. Elmer Roll- land made a trip to Reading over Sunday. Sunday. Mr.and Mrs. Isaac Plasterer, of Cornwall. Cornwall. spent Sunday at the home of David Hoke. on Lehman street. Prof. H. T. Stein, of the Keystone state normal school, is spending his vacation with his parents. Mr. and Sfrs. John Gross gave a party to their numerous friends on Saturday evening. A large number of invited bnestsivere present who greatly greatly enjoyed (he hospitality of Mr. nnd Mrs. Gross. Adam Rohland. of Hebron, made his appearance In our town on. Saturday after a prolonged illness. He has been confined to 'his house for 100 days and his many friends are glad to know that he Is convalescing. Samuel Bledstine had quite a dangerous dangerous encounter with a mad dog on Friday Friday evening and narrowly escaped receiving receiving wounds from the same. .T. H. Kreider. Who is taking a course in medicine at Ha'hneman college. Philadelphia was a visitor in our town last week. He was accompanied by Uis danghiter Ada. Rev. and Mrs. P. L. S. Dausherty and children, of Shoemnkcrsvllle, are at present staving staving at the home of her •mother at this place. , ^ _
