Sam Eveler News artical of death
Sam Eveler left a good mark on Capital City the name of Sam P. Eveler hasn't been in of late. The former Jefferson City councilman (15 years) and mayor pro tem, who died the other day, had in failing health for a number of years. But w* would be remiss on our part if we did recall that much of Sam P. Eveler's 82 years on were devoted to his fellowman, to the Capital City numerous good causes. As an example, he was in Boy Scout work, being tendered its highest honor -the Silver Beaver award. A barber and beauty parlor operator, he served on the State Board of Cosmetology. His other activities, including Church, run the gamut. He also was well known as an outdoorsman. During his 15 years on the City Council, he a philosophy and course which served the city as as well as his ward in a salutatory fashion. In life as well as in death now, Sam P. Eveler our thanks for being a dedicated, constructive citizen of Jefferson City.
