FINED FOR CHILD LABOR VIOLATION Morris Melrose, assistant manager of a local market, was given a hearing hearing yesteday before Magistrate Thomas W. Graham, of the Sixth ward, on the charge of violating Section 421 of Act 177 of the state child labor laws, which prohibits minors, under 18 years of age, working working more than 44 hours per week. He was also charged with not having having a schedule of the act governing the employment of minors posted in the store. State agents made the arrest, on July 13 at 11 o'clock in the morning, who charged that he had been working Fred Bear and Edward Choploski, each 17 years old, in excess of the number of hours permitted under the law. Melrose pleaded guilty to both offenses and was fined $20 and costs, which were paid by Harry Thai, proprietor proprietor of the market.
