Relatives to the number of sixty as-: sembled at the Simon Brandt home in this city Sunday to assist Mrs. Brandt's father, Simon Nolte, celebrate his 84th birthday anniversary, says the Waukon Democrat. Among those present were seven great grandchildren. A sumptu- ous -dinner was served and the day spent in social converse. Mr. Nolte is a native of Germany where he resided until after his marriage to Miss Johan- na Fogt, when they came to this county and settled on a farm in Ludlow township. There are seven children who do „. all that is .possible to make their father happy and contented in the sunset of his (life, namely, Mrs. Simon Brandt of Waukon, Mrs. Frank Sebastian and Mrs. Ed. Goeke of Postville, Mrs. John p. Meyer of Ossian, William Nolte of •Ludlow, Ben Nolte of Burr Oak, amd Mrs. iLouise Evans of Sioux City. All were in attendance at the birthday party Sunday with the exception of the latter. This fine old gentleman enjoys excellent health and it is the.desire of his family and friends that he may be privileged to enjoy many more, such happy events.
