T.E IS FOUND DEAD Death Of Weil-Known Colored Resident Of McDowell Caused From Slash Wound Said Self-inflicted T. Edward Hill, 49, widely-known colored resident of McDowell county, former state director of the Negro welfare department and a former Republican member of the house of delegates was found dead between 7 and S o'clock yesterday morning in his home at Charleston. Hill died sometlmo during the night as a result of a severed artery m the wrist, a wound which was said to have been self-inflicted. He had been in ill health for more than x year. For six months he was a patient in the Hatfieid-Kessler hospital, hospital, Huntington, and was later a patient at the Providence hospital this city. Funeral services will be held at Charleston. Born in Martinsville Va., he came to McDowell county about twenty- eight years ago. In 1912 he became business manager of the McDowell Times with which paper he was connected connected up to the time of his death. Hill was Relegate from McDowell county in the sessiun of the 19271929 19271929 and served as assistant clerk of the bouse of delegatus a number of times. He was director of the Negro welfare department from 1920 to 1924, At one time he was also associated associated with Bluefield State Teachers' college as contact man.. Although he maintained his legal residence at Keystone for a number of years he bad spent most of his time in Charleston. He is survived by bis widow, one eon and two daughters. )
