Ferre's Mill Expands Staff, Scope of Work "If it's made of wood, we can build it," is the motto of Ferre's Mill aud Supply Company located at 156 W 5th S. The plant has been located there for the past five years. William D. Ferre, owner, started his custom woodword business in 1948. He leased a building from Tri-State Lumber Co. until he moved into the present plant. Before then he had been employed by Tri-State. The company does cabinets, doors, panels, etc. There are 11 employees kept busy by doing woodwork in new schools and churches. In the last four years they have done the finishing, pews, etc. of about 20 churches. "We also do a lot of plastic work," says Mr. Ferre, stressing that most of this is counter tops for homes and schools. He said that he has walk-in trade also from individuals who like quality, custom-built work.
