in head Elbert any the autographed have "Into the Valley" and "Storm." * * * A Sunday Outing Almost resulted in tragedy for Bobbie Pennington, four and a helf year old son of Lucille Pennington, Pennington, Silver City, recently. The small boy, his mother, and two other couples from DAAF were ticknicking at the White Water Canyon, north of Silver City. Walk ing across one of the catwalks over a creek, the boy stoped to toss a stone into the water below. below. He lost his balance, falling 25 feet into the stream below, hitting hitting his head on a rock at the bottom. Sgt. C. Colflodt quickly jumped from the catwalk into the creek, fished the unconscious boy out, who couldn't' swim out of the water and drove him 100 miles at break-neck speed to the hospital in Silver City. Bobbie's life was saved. Sgt. Colflodt, a slight sprain in his back, is on the job again in the orderly room at the 971st. And DAAF salutes its latest hero on the home front. Jr.
