Shower for Lynda Orr Highlights Social Scene This Thanksgiving Social events of the Thanksgiving holiday centered around the pre-nuptial shower given for Miss Lynda Orr Saturday evening, November 26 in the home of Mrs. Henry Sullivan. The wedding itself will highlight the Christmas season, for Miss Orr, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. J. M. Orr, and Joe Davis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Davis, have selected December 19 as the date. Joining Mrs. Sullivan as hostesses were Mrs. Barney Glenn, Mrs. Elvis Crawley, Mrs. Heber Brantley, Mrs. John Holton and Mrs. Bura Handley. The guests were received by Mrs. Sullivan and presented to Miss Orr, Mrs. Orr, Mrs. Davis, and Mrs. M. N. Orr of Memphis, grandmother of the bride-to-be. Miss Ann Godfrey of Lubbock registered the guests. The centerpiece on the serving table was of white chrysanthemums in variegated sizes touched softly with green on petal points, and arranged with bright green leaves in a milk glass tiered bowl. Adding a note to the fall decor were the brass appointments. Guests were served coffee or hot spic- ed tea by Mrs. Kent Peoples of Canyon. Others in the house party were Mrs. Ben Meadors, Miss Vicki Glenn and Miss Frances Hill. Members of the two families who came from out of town to the shower were Mrs. Roy Lower and daughter, Christy of San Angelo, Mrs. Bob Kiner of Memphis, Mrs. Arvin Orr of Plaska, Mrs. W. K. Davis of Lefors, and Miss Sue Ward of Ada, Oklahoma, and also Mrs. G. C. Godfrey of Spur, mother of Miss Godfrey. Guests called between the hours of six-thirty and eight o'clock. Dodson Woman Entertains UDC Chapter 1845 of the United Daughters of the Confederacy met for a covered dish luncheon in the home of Mrs. B. B. Martin of Dodson Saturday, November 20. Lunch was served from a table decorated in keeping with the Thanksgiving motif. Turkey and the trimmings were served. After lunch a business meeting
