Lohrville Man Serving During Atomic Tests LOHRVILE (THNS) -- Vincent; Cook, S. 2/c, is serving with the naval a)r corps of joint army navy task force I under the command of Rear Admiral C. A. F. Sprague. The mission of the task force is primarily to determine the effects of the Nagasaki type atomic bomb upon naval vessels and military equipment in order to gain information of value to national defense. The largo aircraft carrier USS Shangri La, flagship of Admiral Sprague, will carry pilotloss prone aircraft which will fly through the bomb blast to collect scientific data. Among those receiving their dis charges from the service are Wen dell Miller, LeRoy Knapp and Laurie Maritz. The Happy Hour club met at the home of Mrs, Jack Haynes Tuesday with 15 members present and one visitor. Roll call was answered by "My Favorite Flower." Two boxes were packed to be sent to Norway, A lottor written to Mrs Scollon from a family that had received boxes was read. The let ter told of the conditions in that country. Lunch was served by Mrs. Haynes, assisted by Mrs. Ho J?art. LeRoy Knapp, S. 2/c, of Great Lakes, III., received his honorable discharge from the service May 0 at Minneapolis.
