brother, in Colorado and California. _ o Mexican Trip Story Is Told CHANDLER, Aug. 17—Tracing his trip to Mexico, D. F.. via Monterrey, Pete Guerrero of Mesa gave -the Chandler Rotary Club an interesting resume of experiences and places of interest. According to Mr. Guerrero, the road is paved straight through to Mexico City. For some distance the road runs along the seacoaat, and by the time one is halfway to Mexico City, it has reached an altitude of more than 9,000 feet. Part »f the trip was made through clouds. The highway is flanked for miles %y orchids, banana trees, coffee shrubs, cacao trees and rubber trees. Most of the growth is wild, while some of it is under cultiva- lion. The most interesting side trio Mr. Guerrero made from Mexico City was to visit an old convent church. Built about 1563. the edi- • fice is made of stone from a nearby quarry. Most interesting was the fact that Indians were lined up from the quarry to the building site, and the stones handed from man to man until the church was completed.
