FAILURE Too Much Exertion In Climbing Embankment Embankment Believed To Have Stopped Heart Action Jacob Funderburg, age seventy three years, four months, and twenty - tight days, died at his farm three i.nd a half miles south of the city. Sundav at noon. Mr. Funderburg had been ailing recently but had been able j to be about and do ordinary work on the farm. Sunday about noon, he took a walk, with three grandsons, Kyle Kendrick and Kerniit, to 'the river! bank near by and on the re turn 'en - deavored to climb a steep' embank - 1 iiiont. .His grandsons offcivd to aid him in the climb but declared he felt ! strong enough to make it alone. After i reaching the top, he fell .over In an! unconscious condition and died - a I - j most immediately. Death was thought to have been caused by heart failure. Coroner B. F. Morgan was called to, render a verdict on the death Mr. Funderburg had lived on a farm i in Union township three and a inifj miles ?outh ast of this city since a j Mr. Funderburg was bom Novem - I ber 12, 1847 in Lancaster township,1 the son of David and Anna Funder - 1 burg. His marriage was to Luclnda1 JSnowbargec, August 12. 1873. Six i children were born to them. One sou I Levi and one daughter Mary are de - ceased. He is survived by the wife and the following children: Samuel I Funderburg. of Lancaster - township; i u.slc Funderbursr of this city. Burial will be at the L 0. O. F. cemetery by the church. 1
