interim Use to and the Hedgerow presents pianist ROSE VALLEY - In , continuing effort to produce something worthwhile for local audiences, Hedgerow Theatre currently is presenting Wayne McEvilly, pianist. Born here, Mr. McEvilly studied with Chester's greatest contribution to music, Al Pike. He is a graduate of the Philadelphia Conservatory and is reaching for the Chopin, Beethoven plateau. Now it is important for McEvilly to sit down and what he wants to do with musical life. Does he want to go on serious musician? Does he to play for school audiences? does he just want to drift playing the trite, hackneyed programs that he is now for mature audiences? In his program of Monday nite, dedicated to Harry S. Truman, (What happened to Missouri waltz?) he opened with the Beethoven sonata in Minor. The tempi were so in the first two movements the closing movement seemed rushed. McEvilly approached two Chopin waltzes and a ballade though they were Liszt and played them with the same of delicacy. The after intermission selection was the Mozart sonata in A Major. McEvilly did here, playing with the rapt attention of an advanced music student, -- perhaps because he found it necessary to use a music score'. McEvilly was attired in abusiness suit and it seems this reviewer that a music audience is entitled to an artist who is both properly attired properly prepared musically. The artist is presenting a program at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. -JAMES PARKINSON
