Tba bflf - yrarly term of Um Royal Military Academy at Woolwich was hrorjht to a close yesterdsy, when Um company company of Gentlemen Cadets paraded In review order under Capta'u Shakerpear, R.A for the inrpectloa of the Governor of the cstablishtnect, Colonel Wllford, B.A. who was received aith a general saint at 2 o'clock. The cadets then marched peti In the usual manner, la alow end quick time, end were put through the manual and platoon exercn by Gentleman Cadet Trad, Gentleman Cadet Cobbold acting si Adjutant The command being then token by Captain Shakespear, they were put throogh several battalion - mancurres, firing with blank cartridge, after, wards forming on original ground, adrsndng in line, and performirg a general r - Jnte. They were then marched into the disfog - kall to witness the interesting ceremony of award, leg the prizes for proficiency in the different branches of study. The Governor, before distributing the prizes, ad. droned Um c - idets, complimenting them upon their uniformly good conduct and their steadiness under arms, and detailed the progress of the company daring the past half year. He pointed out in an en. couraging manner the Important nature of their future career as cficen, and urged them to pencrere In their studies. The p! izes were then presented to the cadet, to whom they had been adjudged, the Governor addressing to each one an appropriate remark. Gentlemen Cadet Sitwell was especially complimented upon reoehing the rword, the prize for general good conduct The remainder of the prizes were delivered In the fullowlng manner, vu. : Mr. Sitwell General good conduct and landscape drawing. Mr. D. Jones - Fortification (practical claw). Mr. Innes First mathematics, first fortifications. Mr. ArmrtrOTj Second mathematics. Mr. Woodward Seoond fortification. Mr. Stevens Dexerlpti re geometry. Mr. Althorpe - French. Mr. Burnett - History and geography. Mr. Wilmer Topographical dreeing. Mr. Johnston Lende:ape drawing. Twenty - r'ne cadets of the practical elrss in this academy hire teen recommended for commissioas in the Royal Artillery and Ecgineers, making an aggregate number of 63 commisuoci from the eeKblichment durizg the hut half - year. The vacation will terminate on the 3d of February loS.
