Fred W. Arndt death
Rites Planned For SC Pioneer, Fred W. Arndt Fred W. Arndt, 83, a native of Santa Cruz and the son of the late William and Henrietta Arndt, died Monday in San Francisco. He was born on the Arndt ranch in Santa Cruz county and later entered the lumber and teaming business. As a boy he used to de liver The Sentinel on horseback. The family home was at 723 Columbia street. He was the husband of the late Mary G. (Lynch) Arndt, and is survived by three daughters, Grace Frost, Gladys Hart, and Doris Knudsen; and four grandchildren, Sally Voelker, Freddie Hart, and Patricia and Janice Frost. He was preceded in death by a grandson, the late Jack N. Frost. Catholic blessing services will be conducted tomorrow at 11 a.m. in White's chapel with Msgr. William MacLoughlin officiating. Interment will follow in the IOOF cemetery. The rosary will be recited tonight at 8 o'clock in White's chapel.
