Woman Resident Of City 61 Years Dies At Her Home Funeral services will be held at the Wessendorf morturay Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock for Mrs. Lena Arndt Wagner, 81, who died at her home, 215 Highland avenue, last night. The Rev. Normafn H. Snow, pas. tor of the Calvary Episcopal church, will officiate. Interment will be. in the Odd Fellows ceme tery. Mrs. Wagner was a native of Rugen, Germany, and came direct to Santa Cruz at the outbreak of the Franco-Prussian war in 1870 with her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Christian Arndt. The family settled on a ranch in Soquel and two years later Miss Arndt married Wagner, owner of the tract of land fronting along High street and continuing back over the hill to the Barrett tract. Wagner's grove was for many years the favorite picnic grounds of the city. Part of the tract was later sold to H. A. van C. Torch-lana and S. H. Cowell. Mr. Wagner died about 15 years ago. Mrs. Wagner was stricken with a stroke one year ago, but was not confined to bed until two days ago when sh suffered a hemorrhage. Two weeks ago there was a family reunion at the Wagner park at which she was the honored guest. She was a member of the Santa Cruz lodge of Rebekahs and the Arion Ladies society of this city. Surviving her are three sons, Robert E. Wagner of 221 Highland avenue; Fred Wagner of Chanticleer avenue and John Wagner of 215 Highland avenue; a daughter, Mrs. Thomas Rowan of 225 Highland avenue; and a cousin, Mrs. Augusta Nagel of 91 Columbia street, last of the Arndt family that came from Germany. --
