a Birdie Bed Davis DEPORT — Birdie Bell Davis, 98, of Paris, formerly of Cunningham, died Monday, May 3, 1999, in Christus St. Joseph's Hospital. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 5, at Wood Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Restland Cemetery at Cunningham. Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. Tuesday. She was born Dec, 1, 1900, in Lamar County to Daniel and Mary Ann VanDaly Ashford. She married married Jim G. Davis in Dec. 1920. He died in Dec. 1979. She was a member of Cunningham Baptist Church. Surviving are her children, Leonard Davis of Paris, Ruby Cook of Crosbyton, Margaret Holbert of Colorado City, Leona Purcella of Paris, Gavin Davis of Colorado City, and Diana Rogers of Paris; two brothers, Arvil Ashford of Paris and Robert Ashford of Cunningham, 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. great-great-grandchild.
