i n g Solves Mystery of 'Missing ROY -- Autumn, with its Halloween atmosphere, invites strange happenings. But, one of the most mysterious is the haunting question of what ever happened to Joseph Dawson's outhouse. He claims it was a perfectly good outhouse. He also says it stood, absolutely inoffensive, in his yard until Roy High School homecoming, 1969. On the other hand, Craig Ogan, student body president at the school, claims that spirited for flieftr traditional bonfire, pick only "old, dead wood," a category from which Mr. Dawson's Dawson's outhouse is definitely eliminated. OUTHOUSE MYSTERY The mystery of the outhouse was discreetly brought up at a nocturnal gathering of the City Council, attended by young Ogan. The student leader was requesting requesting approval for the proposed proposed homecoming activities for the bonfire and related wood- gathering. The fate of Councilman Councilman Dawson's outhouse, which promises to remain permanently permanently a mystery, forced Councilman Councilman Richard Tubbs to make the motion that any future wood-gathering ventures by students' be kept strictly away from outhouses on Mr. Dawson's property. Councilman Dawson assured the group that it was "too late" for the valued structure. "It's already gone," he -said, and Another proposed homecoming homecoming activity produced a brighter brighter reaction from Councilman Clark Puffer. The prospect of a torch run from Smithfield to Roy brought a toe-tapping response response from the athletic councilman. councilman. ' "I'll help you run it," he offered, eagerly. Mr. Ogan was hesitant, pointing pointing out to Councilman Puffer that the trek would be partially partially uphill. So to add to the mysteries of this friendly city is the question of .whether one might be able to see Clark Puffer sprinting lightly through Sardine Canyon c o m e Tuesday or whether, as hinted by the man's surname, he might find his lungs slightly short of breath for such a venture. And so as chilly fall weather brings the unusual, so might Roy High homecoming, 1970, bring some interesting results, once again for City Council members.
