Guayama sugar crop July 1842
From Porto Rico.—Capt. Hatch, of the brig Mary Averill, from Guayama, sailed July 6th, informs us that just before he left abundant rains fell on the south side of the island, after a long continuance of drought. The canes had suffered much, but the planters still hoped to make an average crop unless there should be a recurrence of very dry weather.— AT. Y. Commercial Advertiser.
