- tjon ns county controller . FUNERAL OF MR. MILLER. ... Many Old Residents Attended Services . Conducted by His Pastor. The funeral of Michael Miller, one of Scranton's pioneer and most respected citizens, was held from his home on Cedar avenue yesterday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. , Among the old residents who had known Mr. Miller for half a century who came to pay their last tribute to their friend were; Owen Connelly of Minooka; John Hamm and Jacob Emig of the South Side. Services were conducted by Rev. W, A. Nordt of the Hickory Street Presbyterian Presbyterian ' church, and the Rev. J. C. Schmidt of the German Baptist church. Both .spoke feelingly of the deceased. Many floral pieces covered the oaken casket Mrs. Jacob Grester and Miss Lydia North sang Mr. Miller's favorite selections: selections: ''Rock of Ages,", "Christian's Good Night" and "Asleep In Jesus." The flower bearers and pall bearers were all old and Intimate friends of the J deceased. Tne nower Dearers were: Charles Heusner, William Hammen, Peter Miller, Jacob F. Miller. The pall bearers were: John Lentes, John Lem - uth, Charles Neuls, Harry Zlegler, John J. Schneider and Richard Heffelflnger. Interment waa made In the Dunmore cerrietery. v a .
